Thermogenerators generate direct electric current at a temperature difference with an efficiency of about 5 percent. Only a fraction of the heat is converted into energy. The efficiency increases with the temperature difference. Thermogenerators are used where low power (below 1 watt) is required to supply sensors or other miniature consumers, for example, thus eliminating the need to integrate them into a power supply infrastructure. Each TEG Peltier element can be used as a thermogenerator. However, the quality of workmanship and material is crucial for efficiency and service life. Seamless integration into the thermal environment ensures optimum energy yield. (more information about thermogenerators)
